RTC Accuracy Test Failed - Error code WSB01-H18 (Alienware Area 51 Desktop)
My Win 7-64, i7, computer has been running slowly lately (to the point where I can't even play games).
I checked to make sure everything was seated properly, defragmented, ran disc check and diagnostics.
Alienware autopsy diagnostics reported a RTC ACCURACY TEST FAILURE - CODE WSB01-H18.
I tried replacing the CMOS battery in the desktop but it didn't work.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Right, but only in that one Diag Suite. In the Dell 32bit Diags (outside of Windows) and the Dell online Diags (PC Doctor) no RTC problems were reported. Plus, you said the clock is keeping time and date fine.
Personally, I think it's just a glitch with AlienAutopsy Diag. It might also be the real/existing problem being incorrectly classified. If you want to put your faith in that one failing Diag, then all you can do at this point is replace the Motherboard. Then you can see how it runs generally, and finally, re-run that Diag and see what it says.

Is Area-51 keeping time correctly? Don't assume that Diag is 100%.
Try BIOS bootable PSA (Dell Diags) test. This is one of the best ways to test core motherboard functionality.

The time is OK, but the computer is very slow. Even closing windows takes much longer than it should (and used to).
The only diagnostic that showed something off was the RTC accuracy failure.
Any ideas?

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I should have specified that I followed the above steps, including the pre boot diagnostics. I also did a spyware check (MacAfee) and ran Malwarebytes. The only thing that returns an error is the RTC accuracy test. Could that be responsible for the sudden and mysterious recent slowdown of all aspects of my computer? If so what can I do about it? If not, are you aware of any additional diagnostics to run?
Thanks in advance for your response.

Let's see if I got this right... This is Dell Area-51 (x58 chipset, i7-9xx, 1366 socket) from 2009-2011. It works ok (no errors or BSOD) but it seems to be running a little slow.
1. Dell 32bit Hardware Diags/PSA (outside of Windows)
- All Pass
2. Alien Autopsy:
http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/19/article/Product-Support/Dell-Subsidiaries/alienware-support-site/alien-autopsy
- RTC ACCURACY TEST FAILURE - CODE WSB01-H18
3. Dell PC Diagnostics (Online / PC Doctor)
http://www.dell.com/support/Diagnostics/us/en/19
- All Pass

Yes, but it is running more than a "little" slow. I can't even play a sedate game like civ 5 b/c of the slowdown. FPS are absolutely impossible. It takes 3-4 seconds to close a webpage! My internet connection is good > 50 mps.
This is making me nuts!

Is your Power Profile on "High Performance"?
Tried disabling McAfee temporarily?
What are your Windows Experience Index scores?
What video card and have you updated your drivers?
CPUID HW Monitor - How are your temps? http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Crystal DiskInfo (Standard Edition) - HDD SMART status ok? http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html

That's weird. Fine for me in IE9. To clarify, his webpage is a problem for you or it's the gadget somehow.

Power profile is high performance.
Disabling MacAfee (and Malwarebytes) doesn't help.
Windows experience scores as of last night:
Processor 7.5
Memory 7.8
Graphics 7.9
Gaming Graphics 7.9
Primary Hard Disk 5.9
Nvidia 680 - Driver current (11/13)
Temperature is normal
HD fan 2209 (27%)
System Fan 898
PCI fan 1095 (1%)
Stress test OK,
CPU usage normal (ramps up depending on task) - According to desktop gadget. For some reason, the ALL CPU Meter crashed IE every time I went on the page.,
The only thing wrong is that the computer is really slow and the only error RTC accuracy test.

Still waiting for:
Crystal DiskInfo (Standard Edition) - HDD SMART status http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html
and Crystal Disk Mark (Standard Edition)
OpenCandy is fine as long as you are smart about it (opt out of suggestions) but if still paraniod about it, just grab the Portable versions.
