Ram not fully usable after CPU upgrade
I have an old Alienware Aurora ALX from 2009 I believe and recently just got back into gaming. I recently just upgraded my Intel core i7 920 @ 2.67hz to the best and limited selection of processors that were still compatible in getting the intel 980x unlocked atr 3.33ghz. After the update my computer reads 12GB ram with only 2.99 usable. Is there a way to fix this? Is it from the new CPU? Or do I need to buy more ram? Before the upgrade I had 12gb of ram and 12gb usable.
My motherboard model Alienware 04VWF2 with an intel x58 chipset.
Any help is appreciated!

Re-seat all DIMMs.
Reset BIOS to defaults.
Delete all the 8 Processor entries from Device Manager and reboot.
If still not working, I wonder what Dell-Diags (outside of Windows) says about it.

Darn.
What memory and/or DIMMs show in BIOS?
If you don't still have Dell 32bit Diagnostics partition, you will have to create a bootable CD or FlashDrive of it. Did it's tests pass? What did it say about memory, motherboard, and the computer in general?
