Random No Signal and BSOD.
So my Alienware Aurora R4 and GTX 590 has been with me for more than 3 years now. 8 months after getting this rig, this has happened frequently. The monitor goes black and it says "No Signal Received" and then 2 things can happen - it either restarts or just hangs there until I do a hard reset (hold power button to turn off), I made a video recording of this:
[View:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFH8eVXwy0k:550:0].
I used BlueScreenViewer and found out that these 3 files are usually highlighted:
- dxgkrnl.sys
- dxgmms1.sys
- nvlddmkm.sys
Current Graphic Card driver: 340.52.
Current BIOS version: A11
Have tried to update to later till latest driver versions and it still occurs. Decide to revert back since nothing helps because this is the "most stable" version so far.
Now, I am not hardware savvy but I can guess that it's either my graphic card or my motherboard. Someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Well, I hope that perhaps by chance some of your here may have experienced this or know what's happening and could help me. However, I am prepared to get a new rig as a worst case scenario. This current rig has no more warranty anyway. Dell couldn't help me in any way, all they offered me was a refurbished EVGA GTX 590 after they've sent like 3 people to my house and check me rig.
Thanks for your time and help :)

The same thing has been happening to me with my x51 r2, gtx 670 i7 4770. When I tried to get help from the alienware tech support they said that nothing was wrong with anything. This is really pissing me off and I haven't found a way to fix it yet either. ;(

That blue screen indicated that there's a failure with the Video card.
If you're not even able to see the Alien head screen when you turn on the computer. What I would suggest would be taking out the video card, have the speakers up and let the computer boot if you can hear the Windows sound then it's only an issue with the video card.
Let me know how it goes.

@ bfhdragon
Could it be possible to check the AC Adapter cable that goes into the computer?
Whenever you plug the Adapter to the computer and the light on it dims out it's a clear sign of a video card failure.
Is it specifically blue screens or black screens that you're getting?

It varies a lot the last time it crashed it was a grayish white screen. The problem I am having isn't the exact problem that he is having.

When it boots up, it boots up normally. When Windows boots up, it'll just shows me a dialog box that says "Windows encoutered an unexpected problem" and it will display the details of BSOD code 116. I've been searching for more than 2 years now, and I couldn't find any answer.
What I know helps a little is when I open up my rig and take out the battery on the motherboard to do a reset. I then have to configure BIOS but at least the BSOD doesn't happen for like 2 months+. I have to do this motherboard reset every time this occurs. If I don't, it'll happen every time I watch YouTube or play a game.

@FateZero
That's a Video card Failure right there.
Are you still in Warranty?

@Bfhdragon do you mind creating a new thread so I can create a case specifically for you?
