Recently bought Alienware has no warranty?
I have purchased an Alienware Alpha Steam Machine from Gamestop in April 2017 and was working fine until a week ago. Now the unit refuses to turn on. It gets to the Alienware splash screen but the shuts down after that. I have tried replacing the solid state I had installed in there with the original, but the unit still does not power on. I have contacted support to do a warranty claim but they told me that the warranty expired in February 2017. I asked how a warranty can expire before I have even purchased the unit? And they said that there was nothing they could do on their end and told me to contact Gamestop. The Gamestop Store and Gamestop Customer Care number told me that since it was past 30 days that I would have contact Alienware/Dell for support. I keep getting the run around. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do or who to contact next?

Yeah, I've tried going into the BIOS but it shuts down before I can do anything. I have tried a new power supply, new hard drive, original hard drive but that didn't work. I also tried booting up from both a SteamOS flash drive and Windows 10 flash drive, but my alpha still shuts down before anything can happen.

my first guess would be overheating. CPU or GPU Cooler is not working. since you've already opened it try to turn on the Machine while it's open and take a look at the CPU/GPU Fans. are they spinning properly?
also. how about Clear CMOS? have you tried it?

I have already registered the alpha in my name. I've already contacted Dell and they want me to pay to extend the warranty, which I don't understand because the warranty expired before I have even purchased the product.

Warranty service is like anything else. When you buy a used car its exactly the same where the new owner pays for a warranty extension. You didn't buy this new from Dell. You purchased thru a used reseller that is not dell.

I didn't buy the Alpha used I bought it brand new. I have my online order confirmation and receipt. I have bought plenty of computers through retail stores and I have never had to pay extra for a warranty on a new product.

I am in exactly situation as you. I purchased brand new Alienware Steam Machine at Gamestop during last Black Friday. I thought I have 1 year warranty until this November. Today I could not turn on my Alienware, it kept flashing yellow light. I tried to contact technical support, and found out my warranty was expired in 1/22/2017. Could anyone help me to solve my problem?

Gamestop is selling used Games as New. it wouldn't surprise me if they did the same with Electronic Devices.
i'm not sure what you expect us to do. no one here on this Forum has the Ability to extend your Warranty. all we can do is help you with Troubleshooting.
