Respawn not working

My daughter messed up her Alienware Mx14r. We decided to restore it back to factory conditions. Went through the Alien Respawn procedure, followed it pretty closely. However, when it started back up, it has none of the Alienware customizations (splash screen, backsground, alienware software) & the drivers did not load for much of the hardware (USB Controller, network adapter, wifi adapter).

Windows 7 is installed, but since I can't connect to the internet, or use a USB port, I can't load any of the drivers.

Thunderkyss,

Which revison of the M14x, R1 or R2? You will need to download the drivers to a USB key on a different PC and then copy them to the M14x. If the Respawn did get loaded, you might attempt to run it again being sure that NO external devices are connected to the M14x.

Chris has given you great advice. You can also find the Network drivers using the resource DVD that was shipped with the computer. Click your revision to find the different drivers for your system. M14xR1 - M14xR2

I had to burn them all to a CD as the USB drivers weren't installed either.

I then downloaded respawn, ran it hoping it would see the recovery partition & restore the computer back to factory condition, including the Alienware customizations (splash screen, function keys, LED controls, etc....) no dice.

My daughter found the recovery media that came with her computer. We used those disc & ended up at the same place. I've got the computer up & running with all the drivers, but none of the Alienware customizations.

Did you download and install the Microsoft dotnet framework 3.5 and 4.0? If not, load them and restart the system. Then, follow these instructions to remove and reinstall the Command Center software from the File Library. Once done and restarted, install the AlienGuise Theme manager.

That's exactly how you recover the Alienware Command Center and the Breed Theme. If you don't have Alien Respawn anymore as a result of installing Windows, you can recover that following these simple steps.

How to install AlienRespawn

I am having the same issue and after re installing the alien respawn, I still do not see the option to perform the factory reset. It's just not there. Please help because no one has been able to solve this issue for me.
