Restoring to Factory Default
Hi there, I've messed myself over without question. I reinstalled Win 7 in an attempt to wipe the PC to pass the laptop down to a family member like new, I was unaware of the factory restoration process you had to undertake with Alien Respawn to do this. Now unfortunately, I've dug myself a hole. All my drivers were missing and even basic internet drivers weren't installed until this point, I've tried to install Alienware Respawn to do restore the laptop to factory settings however the option to do so is missing in my BIOS repair computer section when I attempt to follow these steps:
* Turn the system off
* Disconnect all external devices from the laptop except for the power cord
* Restart the system
* Press F8 several times
* On the Advanced options menu, choose "Repair You Computer"
* Press Enter
* Windows is loading files...
* Choose English, US, click Next
* User name and password may be required
* Click OK
* At the System Recovery Options choose AlienRespawn Restore and Emergency Backup
* Click Select other System Backup and more options
* Click Next
* Click Restore my Computer
* Click Next
* Select Factory Image
* Click Next
* Select Restore without preserving new or changed files
* Click Next
* Click Yes
* Click Next
In the end I just have to go back to normal windows as the AlienRespawn Restore and Emergency Backup option is completely missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi,
By re-installing Windows, you've most likely deleted the recovery partition where the AlienRespawn factory image used to be. However, you can download all the missing drivers from the Support website.
First, make sure you did a clean Windows installation as explained in this video.
Once the OS is installed, find your Alienware model in this article and install the drivers in the same order specified in the list. Once you've installed everything you should have the computer back the way it was from factory with the latest drivers.
Hope this helps!

Sorry for the late response and thank you very much for the quick reply, my goal is to regain/redownload the recovery partition that contains the AlienRespawn factory image. Without it, I can't sell/pass on my PC as it still has all my old files on it. I'm in a real kerfuffle.

"my goal is to regain/redownload the recovery partition that contains the AlienRespawn factory image."
That is not possible if the recover partition was removed during your prior reinstall. The image is not available for download. Your only option is to do a clean install of the operating system and drivers which will format the hard disk drive which will erase all of your data.
