Return or Buyback?
Hi, so I recently bought an Alienware Area-51 desktop. I've had it for around 110 days, and I was wondering if Dell has any buyback or extended return policy. Mainly because they now offer a triple GPU option, and I was interested in that. It's specs are:
Intel Core i7 975 3.23 GHz CPU option
Windows 64-Bit Home Premium
1.2 KW power supply
6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM
Two AMD Radeon HD 6950's, 2 GBs each
1 TB SATA 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive option
No additional hard drive
1-in-19 Media Card Reader
At the time there was a PCIe wireless card option, which I got.
No sound card, bluetooth, enthusiast essentials, and the stock disc drive. I was also wondering if the 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth EDR Combo thing is a wireless card? Thanks.

they do have some additional item you can pick up when you first configure your pc. cant find the name of it, but they accept certain desktops at a reduced price.

You can also add that to your PC (buy back plan) within the first 60 days by calling 1-800-WWW-DELL

So there's no way dell would take this back at any price? I could probably get 2300 at least for it on eBay.

You have the 1200w PSU so just buy the third 6950 and throw it in there. I am willing to bet the farm it will work with nothing else added.
It's cheaper that way too.

What brand do they use? XFX? Also, I was thinking about two 6990s, and up to 12 GB of RAM.

i have a area 51 with 3 6950 in tri xfire and just lost my 30" monitor.. gonna swap out to a 27 with 2 24's on the sides. I have deus ex with all the candy on.. looks good.. need to add more games to library. not sure if you really need 3 to be honest. Wait till the new cards come out maybe and get them cheaper. .02
