Start up problem with Alienware m17x R2 ati 5870 crossfire ,940 xm quad core intel

Hello I have this problem : When i am starting my alienware everything goes fine until it gets to the desctop screen where it freezes and the only way to get it working is to reboot it and after the bios loading screen i must pull off the supply cable until it has loaded fully and then put it back to recharge the computer's battery which i find pretty annoying. The computer is new 1 month I had to reintall the windows once. I bealieve i could have done any mistakes while reinstalling it but i want to be sure what causes this problem

I also have some questions for example like shall i keep the video cards' driver updates from the dell support or i shall use amd once, because this driver is from 2010.

Pmful,

So the system is OFF, your powering on and this is where the freeze occurs (Yes/No) ?

Once your up and running and the AC power cord is plugged back in -
* Click Start- Turn Off Computer- Restart. What happens? Does it restart successfuly?

When troubleshooting, stick with our drivers for now.

Nope At Start up everything is fine till it gets to the desctop screen where it freezes or at the login screen. (this happens when the Ac adapter is plugged in). inorder to make it working i unplug the ac adapter a second before the login screen and then there is no problem, after everything is loaded i put it back and it is ok

You can certainly try them. But be ready to go back to ours if any troubles occur.

Be sure you have the latest M17x-R2 Bios A10 loaded: http://dell.to/PBW53F

Follow the instructions here: http://dell.to/A3UXgM

If still no go, contact Alienware Support email (alienware_2@dell.com, alienware_1@dell.com) and get the battery replaced.

As Chris said when troubleshooting use the Dell aproved drivers. But when you wanna start gaming again head directly to ATI. The Dell drivers are older than the Aztecs and play very little.
