TPM Module in Alienware Notebooks

Question

I got my AW 17 yesterday delivered and so far I think it's worth the bucks I spent for it. The first thing I usually do at a new system is to enable Full Disk Encryption, on Windows with Bitlocker, but surprise there is no TPM chip present! WTF?  Yea I know how to enable Bitlocker with a password or USB stick but a TPM is much more comfortable and in some ways more secure. We are living in a time where FDE is a must have, not only for corporate but also for private data and where you can certainly expect to have a TPM built in if you buy such an expensive system. PLEASE build future Alienware systems with an integrated TPM and if you want to do something good for your customers enable Bitlocker FDE by default. edit: typo

I too was surprised by this and BitLocker is the main reason I opted for Win 8.1 Pro. For the price we pay for one of these 'Premium' systems the least they can do is supply something as basic as a TPM chip.

Only business clasification machines have TPM module (in any manufacture's line). See my sig for example. The nicer Dell Latitude and Precision laptops should have them (but check first).
