Touchpad backlight issue
I just got an MX14 and when I turn off the backlight, the touchpad stays on (other zones go off). How do I get the touchpad light to turn off with the other zones when I disable the touchpad? I have changed the zone colors and I know how to turn off permanently (and don't want to do this), I just want it to go off with the other zones when I disable the backlight.

huskerscott1968,
I just created a Theme with all red LEDs. I have my touchpad disabled when I plug in an external USB mouse. Now walk me through how you are disabling the backlight?

Ok, FN+F11 and the keyboard LEDs turned off (Zones 2, 3, 4, 5).
These remained red?
Zone 1 Alien Head Power button
Zone 8 Touchpad
Zone 9 Wifi
TactX keypad
Media button keys
Choosing Go Dark has the same results.
I will email the team.

Hopefully other users will chime in with their results of FN F11 and Go Dark.

Here is what stays on when I turn off the backlight (all zones go dark but these):
Power button - Zone 1
Wifi signal - Zone 9
Touchpad - Zone 8
Zone 1 and 9 can stay on ( no issues there), but the touchpad is the source of frustration. Obviously I am looking to save battery power and touchpad backlight will be a drain.
P.S. Pass along to the team how cool this computer is. I got it for personal use (I am not a heavy gamer, but this computer was one of the few that you can customize on Dell) and loaded 8 gig of memory, and wow, as promised as delivered.

If i have to, I can turn off permanently, but I hope it won't come to that.

I found out something also, my touchpad is permanently on. I tried to go to the Alienware FX Edit Action wheel and turn off, but I am unable to.

Just tried it over here and they all turned off when I chose Go Dark. Maybe if you reinstall the Command Center? Follow the steps in that guide to completely remove it, then once you install the latest version create a new theme and try to Go Dark.

Nope. Removed CC per the instructions. Restarted. Loaded (2.6.10.0 A01 Alienware_Command-Center-Not_A01_R298797.exe). Restarted. Same issues with Go Dark and FN F11.

This may be pretty basic, but still. In the tray bar icon for AlienFX, there's an option that says "Keep status zones on during Go Dark", is that checked?

Seems backward logic to me that I have to remove the check in addition to choosing Go Dark. You would think that Go Dark would universally apply to all.
