USB Device Silicon Labs

I have the USB Device Not Recognized issue.   I can't use the current articles on how to repair it because I do not have any of the drivers listed in those articles.    My driver is not Renesas, Western Digital, Hitachi, or Seagate.    According to my Programs and Features window, I have a Silicon Labs Software USB 3.1.

I have tried uninstalling the host controllers in the Device Manager and doing a hard restart.  That worked once (two days ago), but not this time.

Please point me to where I can get instructions for fixing that particular brand name USB driver.  Thanks.

I restarted and the problem went away.      But, will it come back?

Thank you for confirming this. I'm sorry to hear it didn't work. In the case that this could be a driver conflict or software issue, we recommend you run the Alien Respawn factory restore. This will restore the system to factory settings. Click here to view an article that explains how to do this.

It completed successfully, no issues during installation.   It did NOT ask me to restart.

But, the error didn't go away, so I restarted anyway hoping that it would.

I don't believe it will come back, perhaps you just needed to restart the computer for the changes to take effect . Let us know if the problem continues.

If you are still receiving the same error about the USB ports, this could mean a hardware problem with the motherboard. There are no other troubleshooting procedures that we can try for this issue, especially since you just did a factory reset on the computer, that should have solved any possible software or driver conflicts.

I see, hopefully they can find a solution. As for now, other than reinstalling Windows or doing a factory reset, we cant think of anything else that could maybe fix this issue.

I haven't done a system restore or factory reset yet ... was hoping maybe there was some other option.  I am in contact with AlienwareTech on Twitter and I think they may be trying to think of something....
