Unknown Usb device Aurora R2

Unknown Usb device Aurora R2 in my device manager.

Unplug everything except the Keyboard, mouse, and monitor and reboot... Device Manager clean now?

If you purchased the internal BlueTooth option, did you install the BlueTooth drivers?

Have you tried installing (or uninstalling and re-installing) Command Center?

If still a problem, upload a screen-shot.

Thanks!

I did that not too long ago. Reboot same issue. Now it seems to be corrected now.

No Bluetooth.

Next time it happens I'll take a screeenshot and upload it.

Other than that, I'm very happy with this machine.

The command center installed is the same version since buying this Aurora.

Thank you again.

Also- It happens off and on. At times no such error, At other times the error appears in device manager.

I just enabled the bio defaults and all is well now.

But, I'd love to hear some ideas as to why this is happening.

Only keyboard and mouse connected through Usb

Now the Samsung T260 monitor hub is connected.

But I've also directly connected mouse/keyboard without the monitor hub to no avail.

Thanks!

Glad it worked out.

I could be various things, but we won't worry about it unless you have a problem again. It's too hard to fix when it's not showing broken.

I experienced this today also, it was due to me making several changes to the configuration. I was rearranging components so I could add a tv tuner to one of the pcie-1x slots. All went well until I added a third hard drive to the system, then I started getting the same error message as you, for some unknown reason the blue tooth device in my system stopped responding. I fixed it by shutting down, unplugging power cord and pressing start button for ten seconds. I have caused this error message a few times now, I guess I should stop jacking with my system................................not!

@ Pat

My brother still has his old Dim-8100. That's the one with the weird pre-478 socket right? We decided not to do a CPU upgrade. We did upgrade the RDRAM a bit. He still uses it as a secondary system.

I had the 8200. I did upgrade to the Pentium-4 2.8ghz in that one while I had it. More RDRAM also and lots of other stuff. That was a good PC and I used it for a long time (4  years) and then the wife used it for a year or so. I gave it to my brother and he uses it daily as a HTPC (MediaPortal).

eBay is a good place to get the RDRAM cheap. I also have a good source for the special fans (with temp. sensor on-board). Lots of those machines still around. A friend gave me another 8200 the other day. Cleaned it up and gave it to my sister.

Anyway ... saw the vintage Dells in your sig. and thought I would share.

Yeah, I have been buying Dells since 1999 and I just chuckle when I hear how you can't upgrade Dells cause they are proprietary. All the Dells in my sig are still working computers, the two oldest are xp machines, Win 7 on the others and the 8100 was an oddball socket 423. My HTPC is an Inspiron 1525, I had a XPS 730 for the past two years and sold it to my brother when I got my present computer.

Well it showed up again. I again moved the mouse/keyboard directly to the back usb ports of the Alienware.

They were on the Samsung T260 for a while. Thus far no issue.

But, am I not supposed to have a G2 device in my device area? Because there is none.

My Alienware command center works fine though.

I did redo my Alienware (factory default) some time ago but the mouse/keyboard  were connected to the monitor hub at that time.

Thanks.

I always connect the mouse and keyboard directly to the back of the PC (no hubs used).

The MIO-Board shows up in "Devices and Printers" at the bottom in "Unspecified". That is, as long as the "Master IO Filter Driver" got installed properly with CC and is being detected by Windows. The newer CC 2.6.x software upgraded the MIO Board firmware to 2.x, so now it appears as "Gaming Desktop" in there.

This thread provides info about this Device (just ignore the parts about disabling it)
http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/p/19365891/19825931.aspx#19825931

This is what it looks like:

Hi

Wow, it is not listed there.

Thank you for the link, will read up on it.

So, what should I do?

Thanks.

I read the link. But nothing is listed like that. I do not play links though.

Should I install the newest version?

I would think that doing a factory restore  would have enabled/installed the device?

Uninstall CommandCenter

REBOOT

Install latest CC

REBOOT

Check for proper operation.

.Net 4 is newer than factory image. CC 2.5.x used .Net 3.5 ... CC 2.6.x uses .Net 4

K, I updated to the newest version of cc.

I now have master i/o device listed in device manager.

.net 4 was not installed. I would think factory restore would have restored that. But I downloaded and installed .net 4 then updated cc.

The G2 device is still not listed in hardware/printers.

I did have windows search for new devices, but nothing was found.

Weird. Maybe it's different on an Aurora R-2 (P-55). I guess it's not a problem as long as it's working, and not complaining about "Unknown USB". The Master IO Filter is the important part.

On my Aurora R-1 (X-58), when the MIO-Board is detected (via the Filter driver) the "Gaming Desktop" appears. When disabled, it's missing. I haven't noticed a purpose for it other than that. It seems to be just a side-effect of the weird way these MIO-Board drivers install.
