There's a very small chance it may be associated with Alienware OSD software, but I'm more leaning towards a faulty keyboard, especially if the two keys are side by side, I found some phone numbers for Dell Alienware support in Nigeria, hopefully they are of use to you
Hello. I've checked out the addresses you sent to me. The laptop(Brand New) was bought from Future-shop in Canada and therefore displays Canada as the country of registration. When I arrived at the service centre, I was advised to do a global tag transfer in order to allow them help me order a new keyboard on warranty. I filled in the global tag transfer form online in February with new owner information details, waited for the required number of business days for it to take effect, yet nothing has been done. I filled it again last month, this time with Future-shop, Mississauga (where the laptop was purchased) as the initial owner information and then my details as the new owner information. still waiting till date for the change to be effected. Presently, the following function keys(F1, F4, F5, F7, and Delete/Scr Lck) no longer work and my HDD makes a funny rattling noise school will be resuming soon and I really need to get this fixed as soon as possible. its really making life difficult. This is my Second dell Laptop, My XPS15z developed an overheating issue with screen display gone totally black + dead pixels, and is still lying in state. Please do something to help with this keyboard issue fast. My expectations on this PC and the previous dell XPS15z has been a great disappointment and a bad experience so far I must say. Still waiting for a reply on the global tag transfer thing, that's if its going to be any help in the long run.
I'm having the same problem with my alien ware m17x r4, although it's only the esc key messing up 4 now, I also stay in Nigeria and sending it back to Newyork where I got it is quite difficult, I'm a chronic gamer so the laptop is almost of no use without an esc (pause) key during gaming sessions, planning on ordering anoder keyboard from amazon as soon as possible.
