I would probly take that up with dell, its like you buy a car your warranty starts from the time you take delivery. when i enter my service tag on the dell website it says my m11x parts warrants runs out in march yet phone support runs out first week of june, neither really make any sense since i bought the laptop brandnew from a store on the last day of june this year.

I've already tried. First time, the girl put me through to tech support who promptly informed me that this was out of their realm and that I had to call customer services. I did that and after a few minutes listening to music, they hung up on me. Tried again, same thing happened.

Anyway, I double-checked my facts and it appears the warranty begins the day the machine leaves the factory. There is actually only a week's difference so it's not as bad as I thought. The principal of the matter still bothers me though because it really shouldn't run until you take delivery.

You are correct. The Dell warranty begins when the order invoices (system ships), not when you receive it.

Do you think that's reasonable Chris?
