Xbox controller on Steam games using Alpha

Question

I tried playing steam games on my Alpha but the Xbox controller was not being used. How do I change that so that I can use it with the games? TIA

Hello,

Are you not able to access the Console mode? If the Xbox controller is not being used, I assume you are launching Steam from Desktop mode. Try switching to Console mode so that you can launch Steam using the controller.

I'm able to; once I start a game using Steam the control does not work.

Does this happen with several games? With some games, you have to go to the settings menu and set it to run with the controller.
