Yet another bricked MIO board - Alienware Aurora R4
Went through the extensive troubleshooting process and I guess my R4 MIO is bricked - fell into the trap, installed software from boxed CD.
Opened up and looking at part numbers to try and replace. V51MH seems to be what I need, but my actual MIO has a part number 23XP2????
Were there many different types? Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the response - what is the difference between 2JXP2 and V51MH boards (if any)?

Even though there have been many different Dell Part Numbers for Aurora MIO-Boards over the years, there is really just 2 different Aurora MIO-Boards.
Here is an example 2010 selection.
2JXP2 - Aurora R1-x58 (Deimos)/Aurora R2 (Voltaire) ALX Master I/O Board
P0GVP - Aurora R1-x58 (Deimos)/Aurora R2 (Voltaire) non-ALX Master I/O Board
On a non-ALX version of the board, most header pin connectors and components for ALX functions are NOT soldered in. To CommandCenter is appears to be a non-ALX machine (no louver control or extra ALX lights)
These would also work in R3-R4, as well as newer R3-R4 ones will work in these older machines. Also, they must be for Auroras. Area-51 MIO-Boards are different.

Aurora ALX model has servo-controlled movable louvers on top and extra lights ... this is what you have?
So, for Aurora ALX, only 2JXP2 will work.
Referencing ... I found this email from "DELL-Chris M" on 6-2012
Call Dell Spare Parts 1-800-357-3355 and ask for the part number for prices and availability.
