direct x11

I have a M17xr2 and have uninstalled the dell video card drivers as during my install for Crysis 2 it mentioned that my current drivers do not support direct x11. Seeing as Dell have not updated the video card drivers for at least a year I have uninstall the dell drivers and installed ati drivers.

I am now contemplating installing direct x11. Has anyone been running ati drivers on a m17xr2 and how have they gone? I just want to make sure that it is relatively stable before I install direct x11. 

Finally, does Dell ever update their drivers? It seems once something is released they never update them.
