is this upgrade a downgrade? need info on how the gpu compares on replacement lappy
So after getting my m17x2 replaced over 40 times, they now said it's no longer manufactured and they couldn't replace it. So they sent me a "upgrade" and I need to know I'm not getting jipped.
I had 2 amd radeon 5800 series for the m17x2, I'll have to post a link to specs since that lappy is dead
So the specs of the m17 are attached via dxdiag,
Basically they did a free upgrade for a extra 5800 after a repair, and the lappy they sent me only has 1 video card (the AMD Radeon R9 M290X). They said since it was a free upgrade they can't give me another GPU on the new lappy, but I need to know if this gpu will last a lil while, performs at the same rate or if my new "upgrade" is actually a downgrade.
I'm not caught up on current gpu's, so if someone could let me know I'd be very grateful.

Hi!
Yes, it's an upgrade. A single R9 M290X configuration has better performance than the dual Radeon HD 5870M Crossfire. You can compare their performance here.
