m17x R2 not powering on
I'm having an issue with my M17x R2.
A few hours ago I put it to sleep and the battery died. I plugged the charger into it and the alienhead lit up and rotated colours to show it was charging. I allowed the battery to fully charge before I attempted to switch it on. All 5 lights lit up on the battery. When I attempt to switch it on, the alienhead lights just switch off and nothing happens. I have to remove the battery and the adaptor and replace them for the alienheads to come back on, but when I attempt to switch the laptop on everything just goes dead.
I have removed the battery and adaptor and held the power button down for 30 seconds in an attempt to resolve it to no avail.
Is the motherboard dead? :(
Thanks in advance
Stu

Some laptops have the charger built into the mobo. If yours is like this and it is dead then yeah you need a new mobo. I would do the pull the battery thing.
I had a Compaq that did this and it turned out it was the PSU that is built into the mobo. It was 400 for the mobo and I payed 700 for the laptop. It wasnt worth replacing so I took the parts from it,sold a few and put the rest into a new laptop.
