missing software & drivers

I just had to re-image my mx11r2 for the 6 time and have downloaded everything available for this machine for the download site. Still missing the bios update, aliensense, my hdmi is not working and i have a unknown hardware in my device manager

Bios provided on the site is not for 64 bit even though it is suppose to be

Aliensense is not provided in "my downloads" even though it was sent with my machine originally

The rest i have no clue

Since buying this machine 3 years ago dell has had to replace every piece of it except the plastic case and it is still overheating even with addition fans blowing on it with the laptoptop stand i have. I have spent more money on support contracts then i did for the machine. Now that i have no support contract they wont post the missing software that should be there in the first place to finish the image.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to find some of this software.

Re: missing software & drivers

Hi Melis2929,

I sincerely apologize for the technical troubles you have experienced with your Dell computer.

Update BIOS from the following link:

http://dell.to/14I4ADS

  • During BIOS update verify that the computer is connected to an AC Adapter.
  • Disconnect any third party peripherals connected to the computer before performing BIOS update.
  • Do not turn off the computer during the BIOS update.
  • Do not restart the computer during the BIOS update.
  • Ensure battery charge is more than 30% during BIOS update.

Note: Plug your computer to a good, working UPS before you update the BIOS. If you experience a loss of AC power or a significant voltage sag/spike during the BIOS flash, you will either have to buy a new BIOS chip or buy a new motherboard.

Now install Alienware Command centre from the following link:

http://dell.to/11sJqra

Refer the following link for Alienware AlienSense FAQ:

http://dell.to/10q21ZN

Every hardware device has a special identifier that is used by Plug and Play. This identifier can include several different types, such as vendor ID, device ID, subsystem ID, subsystem vendor ID, or revision ID. If a device ID is not present, or your Windows 7/Vista-based computer does not recognize the device ID, Device Manager may list the device as unknown.

Refer the following link which has steps to find out the Device ID:

http://bit.ly/14S6yjt

Kindly let me know the device ID so that I can help you with the drivers.

Awaiting your response!

Thanks & Regards
Rajesh R

Re: missing software & drivers

The Bios update you provided is not for 64 bit. It is the issue as downloading it from the drivers site. The facial recognition software is now working and the unknown device is now found and drivers installed.
