steam machine

Hi, 

Can you provide more information on the issue? Do you get an error message? Does it not respond at all? 

I discovered that I have to use a computer and go to my steam account to the game I want to play and open it and then proceed with the steam machine. Biggest problem is learning how to use the controller. I have been trying to find a website, blog, etc.

No error messages. The controller only works when the game icon shows the controller. If the icon shows a keyboard it does not work. Example controller works with the game XCOM. Even this game does not let the controller work all the time. After finishing  one mission it shows click the A button to continue to next mission. When clicking A nothing happens. Sometimes if I open Steam on a computer the controller works better instead of freezing but not all the time. I now have 15 games that I can not play. Extremely frustrated.

So this happens when you run Steam from both the Desktop mode and the Console mode?

for the most part if game icon does not show controller but a keyboard it will not play. Tech told me  I need a gaming keyboard and mouse. Because steam is so new few games have the controller icon only the keyboard icon. Sometimes controller partially works but can not use all functions so I can not play.I never ger any error messages.
