Aurora R3 does not support dual bios switch neither Win 8/10 and we have not validated the GTX1070. In theory (the GTX1070) should work due to watts and port, but we cannot guarantee full functionality.
Not sure why Aurora-R3 is so finicky about ram and video cards. I've always suspected it only EFI and not quite fully UEFI.
I've never heard of Dual-BIOS switch on a Nvidia card, so maybe it's just an "AMD thing". Maybe Nvidia figured it out and doesn't need a switch. Anyway, I suggest you buy from retailer that will accept an exchange.
I run a MSI Nvidia GTX-1070 Gaming-X 8gb in my old Alienware Aurora-R1 . Pretty awesome with it's enhanced cooler. Also suggest a SSD if you don't have one yet.
Its more complicated than just Dual Bios. Mac Pro cards like the Radeon 7950 Mac Edition have an OSX and Windows Bios. Dual Firmware Support—Via Firmware switch controller, HD 7950 Mac Edition supports Mac OS X®/Windows® under non-UEFI compliant mode, or Windows® under UEFI hybrid firmware enabled.
