Alien Amplifier and updating nvidia drivers
When using the alien amplifier:
1) can you update the nvidia driver to the card you're using in the alien amplifier from the nvidia site?
2) do you have to uninstall the nvidia drivers to your native card in your system before installing the drivers to the card being used in the alien amplifier?

Hi,
Actually the driver that you need to install is the laptop's driver, not the amplifier driver. And yes, you can get the driver from Nvidia.

Some confusion here. He has the X51-R3 desktop, not a laptop.

NVIDIA uses a unified driver for all of their cards. If you have a laptop installing the mobile driver will support the desktop card in the AGA. If you have an X51, just installing the most current desktop driver from NVIDIA will support both the native card and the card in the AGA. If you are going AMD you can just install both the NVIDIA and AMD drivers.
