Alienware 14- How do I enable above 60Hz refresh rate for LCD?
Just got a brand new Alienware 14 laptop running Win8.1Pro x64. So far loving most things about it but the LCD screen is slightly uncomfortable to my eyes.
Previously I have found increasing the refresh rate on other computers above 60Hz did the trick. But on this new computer, whether I use the inbuilt Intel Graphics chip or Nvidia Graphics, all display options are 60Hz.
I suspect this might be due to Win8.1 running the driver "Generic PnP Monitor". From what I've read this model has a AUO113D screen.
Does anyone know of better drivers for this display? Thanks

OK, figured out if I run the screen with the Nvidia Graphics, I can set and force custom modes via the Nvidia resolution settings.
1920x1080 32bit 70Hz works but 75Hz doesn't.
At least Increasing to 70Hz is better on the eyes than 60Hz.
