Alienware 17-R1, Uninstalled nvidia drivers, now can't detect gpu & not install drivers.

Hey guys i was having some black screen issues and had to uninstill all my nvidia drivers. So i did but now when i try to reinstall my drivers it doesn't recognise my graphic card. When i check dxdiag it doesn't say i have a gtx780 but it's my integrated gpu. Can anyone help me out here? I'm not that much of a pc freak so i'm hopeless.

Hi Greetz,

I would suggest you to download the nvidia video card drivers from the Dell support site. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the Video card drivers listed from Video section onto the system and install it.

Please let me know if this helps.

Hello Gorne!

You can try pressing FN+F5, which will enable or disable the discrete video card, maybe you are not able to install the video card driver because the Nvidia card is disable.

FN + F5 Just says my gpu will be chosen automaticly based on what i do. I'm downloading the older driver now.

Something up with dell servers or something though downloading at 80 kb/s here :( will let you know if it works later

thanks

I have uninstalled the drivers which led to my pc not recognising my gpu anymore so i had to return to an older restore point.

I'm still having the issue i'm afraid and i cannot read blurays anymore it keeps beeping.. ??

Hello Gorne!

I would recommend running an alienrespawn, which will take the system to the original stated.

And when exactly is that you hear the beeping noise?

When i try to play or run the cd it will start turning fast/slow/beeping.

I will do a factory reset and see what happens..

The black screen issue has been fixed i think because of nvidia's last driver update yesterdat. My screen is awakening again after it goes black.

But the bluray player isn't  fixed yet.. I have actually never used it. only when the laptop shipped i checked out the alienware disks and since then never used it.

Don't think it's worth formatting my pc for this issue it could be hardware issue?
