Alienware 17 R3, GTX 970M - Driver problems

The main components are ( i7-6700HQ , GTX 970m, 8GB RAM, 1TB 7200rpm HDD+126 SSD)

I've been getting problems with the driver since day one.

The Nvidia GPU (970m) keeps crashing when i'm roaming on the desktop mostly, with a Kernel error message "Video_TDR_Failulre (NVLDDMKM.SYS)" and then restarts or it just freezes.

I've tried getting some old driver settings that were trustable since the newer ones were crashing. I've also changed the 3D Settings on the NVIDIA control panel, switching vsync off and the power management mode set to "prefeer maximum performance". I'm trying the 362.0 version at the moment and it has already crashed to. I can't find any other solution on the internet other than downloading drivers, unistalling drivers and clean installations. If anyone can help me, I'll be very gratefull!

Hi,

Uninstall the current driver, then install this driver version. Select custom install so you can do a clean install.

Let me know how it goes!

I've been working on adobe softwares and tested some games for almost 7 hours straight, no freezes, nothing popped up, anything . For now it solved my problem, let's hope it stays this way. Thank you very much for the assist Eimy, you don't know how much that helped me! Again, thanks!
