Alienware Aurora R4 Having problems running Steam Games....

Okay, so I've recently got my Alienware Aurora R4, and it works great.  My only problem is that it can't seem to run games for a maximum of 10 minutes.  Let me explain, whenever I go on a game (downloaded from Steam) it works well for the first few minutes, but the what happens?  My screen goes to black and the game's sound sounds like a broken record.  I have to force shut down the computer.  I really don't want to do that, so can anyone help me out?

In case anybody is wondering what my specs are:

Intel Core i7-3820

AMD Radeon HD 7870

2 TB

16 Gigs RAM

Windows 7 Home Premium

Oh wow I really should have updated this.

My computer is working fine, I got my video card and hard drive replaced and reinstalled everything.  Games run fine and never crash.  Thanks for helping though.

Can you read my messages in this thread, trouble-shoot, and post here in your thread, or do I need to re-type everything here for you directly.

Scratch that, did it again today.  I'm going to call customer support about it soon.

I did most of what you said in that thread, so far, so good.  Usually when I play GTA 4, after about 20 minutes it has the problem, but I was playing for an hour last night.  So looks like this helped, thanks.

Are you using P14 and P16 power supply connectors?

Care to share your settings and results from other thread data?

Catalyst 13.1 is released (finally).

For you AMD 78xx/79xx users ... I saw these issues Resolved in the Release Notes:

•A sporadic system hang encountered with a single AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series GPU seen on X58 and X79 chipsets.

•An intermittent hang encountered with AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series GPUs in an AMD CrossFire + Eyefinity setup.

Be sure to "Clean Install" (see my 01-23-2013 Post)
