Alienware Driver Update!!!
Hi all,
I have an Alienware M17x with a GeForce GTX 460M GPU. I have version 267.xx but I need version 285.xx. Dell does not have this version on their site, and when I go to download the NVIDIA drivers of the NVIDIA site, the setup fails because it doesn't detect my video card and the setup fails.
I hear Dell will be updating all Alienware drivers on October 11, is that true? If not how else will I get my drivers up to date?
So many alienware users are having trouble with this issue.
Please Help
Thanks

thanks a lot, but it says that it can't be downloaded because it's incomplete...?
I've got "allready" 70 MB from rapidshare, too long it wouldn't take ;)

The onboard video adapter is not being utilized by the system. The message in Device Manager states "Windows has stopped it because it reported problems (code 43)". Maybe I should have included the path for it also so it is posted here. My nVidia Control Panel does not recognize the monitor nor does it show the video adapters. What do you think I should do? ZFollowed your directions to the tee.
Thanks,

I modified the driver try this one: www.tinyuploads.com/.../4k66Z4 (Make sure to follow the readme's instructions again)
If the driver gives you any problems restart your computer, start tapping F2 to enter bios, advanced menu, graphics settings menu, disabled and turn off hybrid graphics, disabled and turn off integrated gpu, press F10 to save and exit. (Only do this if the above driver gives you problems)

I think all M17 GTX260M users have the same problem. Especially when playing BF3. If the update works can you provide it to the rest of us

Thanks for the updated drivers. I was out of pocket for a while and was just now able to get this done but, it did work out. I did have to disable the onboard and discrete graphics cards in the bios in order to get the update to work properly. Now, bothe 260M cards are working in SLI mode properly, and the onboard card is disabled. The graphics are a bit choppy with programs that have intense requirements but at least interaction with the program is not compromised. Thanks again for the modified drivers.
