Alienware M17X R3 - Major performance and crash/freeze problems!
Hi
I really need some help with my Alienware M17X R3 from 2012. For a long time my laptop has been underperforming big time. I haven't been able to play any high performing games without big issues. Now for the past few months, an even worse problem has occurred. When I play, or try to play games that my laptop used to run without any problems, it sometimes, most times, freezes in such a matter, that I can't even hard reboot the laptop. The only way to reboot it, is to remove the powercord and take out the battery.
The performance problem is in such a way, that even if I put all video settings to the lowest in some of the new games, is still can't function - too much "lag". Same thing even in Age of Empires 2 HD edition and League of Legends... There are several other problems and I just have no idea what to do or how to fix any of them, and I could really use some help. I have run many diagnostics, but no problems are being registered.
How do I get my machine back in working shape as it was when I first bought it??
Some of the specs (don't know what info you need (and probably not how to find it) - so please let me know):
Processor : Intel Core i7 Processor 2760QM (2.40Ghz, 6MB, 4C)
Memory : 16384MB (4x4096) 1600MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Graphics : 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6990M

Hi Milena
I also contacted Alienware via Facebook, they sent me the same link and through this, I found out that my laptop experiences very high temperatures (up to 100 C), and was therefore suggested to replace the graphics card, which is now in proces.
I will let you know if it works or not. Thanks for the reply.
Regards,
Jon
