my wifes r2 also dims after a couple of mins even after i changed settings i have to us fn key to bring it back up every time...ill keep chkin here to see if anyone answer question
No one else knows anything about this problem and/or how to fix it? Talk about bad luck on my end. Help please lol.
(I am guessing you need to replace or clean the inverter within the screen, although I have no idea how to do this) Picture or video guide needed please).
I'm having this same problem with my Area-51 m15x laptop. I still can't find an answer too, had sent it to Alienware Technical Support and they haven't fixed it. Now it doesn't have a warranty and still can't use my computer. This laptop had a lot of problems since I got it and now this. I really want to fix it. Any updates on how?
No change here, I am still using mine with external monitor, only difference with doing that is it's not portable any more :(
P.S
I also keep checking back. Alienware is not helpful after the warranty is gone I guess, they quoted me 1.5k+ to replace the screen, or I seen on ebay the screen+Metal Lids for 300+ CAD the ladder is an option.
Ok..thinking, searching... I turned auto dim off...my brightness is high... My computer is running but can't see nothing unless I put a flashlight and I can barely see but verified and programs work. I'm no expert but someone told me it may be the bulb in the screen or the inverter. I connected my laptop with a hdmi cable to my tv and I can see it even thought my laptop screen is dim. So, I think that it if was the inverter I wouldn't see it on the tv also. I may try to replace the lcd screen... Or have you done that? I loved that computer so much and miss playing my games there...
