Alienware X51 - Problem with external speakers

Hello!

I recently bought an Alienware X51 and I have a problem with my external Philips SPA3210 speakers. They are a 2.0 system that I have connected to the green out-put on the back of my computer. They sometimes randomly turn off, even when I play games or watch Youtube.

I don't know why the speakers do this and I can't find anything on the computer that should be doing that, nor should the speaker have any fancy function like that.

I bought the speakers at around same time as the computer and even handed them in and got new ones because I thought the speakers was the problem but the problem still occurs. Do I need to get new speakers or is there some "smart" function on my computer not working correctly?

Epicharmus,

Disconnect the speakers from the green audio out jack. Plug headphones into the green audio out jack. Does the audio "turn off" when using headphones?

Open the Realtek HD Audio Manager found in the Windows Control Panel. Click Speaker/Headphone. Click Speaker setup. Make sure you chose Stereo and Small. Then retest the speakers.

I have tried to use my headphone, in the greend audio out jack, for 2 days. It seems to work fine. One thing that I did notice before removing my speakers was that the music in games got silenced for a minute or two (just music, not the click sounds and alike).

I want to add that the speakers costed around 40euro / 55 dollar, so not any fancy speakers that should have any smart function.

I didn't find any "Realtek HD Audio Manager" in Windows Control Panel. Only "Alienware Audio" and Sound. But I switched the settings for the speakers to stero and small under Sound and Alienware Audio. Sadly it din't help, the speakers did turn off after 10min.
