Return x51-r2 to it's most basic (likely close to originally working) config, and see if you can get back to the BIOS posting and displaying.

Try all video ports. Especially VGA or DVI on discrete Nvidia-745 card.

You might even try removing Nvidia-745 and use on-board HDMI. However, that takes sometimes takes a BIOS setting edit, and it can be tricky getting it working if it has been disabled.

You need to verify motherboard isn't blown because 1-beep is:

1 - Possible motherboard failure - BIOS ROM checksum failure

If you can get BIOS to Post and Display, first thing I would run is Dell Diags/ePSA (outside of Windows) and document any errors.

Be sure you always unplug all power and press power button a few times to dissipate any power left on MB and PS before touching or swapping any parts inside the computer. Users forgetting to do this kills many systems.

Also, remember that any time you work inside a computer, you are one step away from it not working ever again (even if you make no mistakes).
