Can't wake Alienware 15r3 from sleep using mouse
I have an Alienware 15r3 running Windows 10 Home. So far, I love this machine. The only problem is, I can't wake it from sleep using the movement of my wireless mouse.
I checked the BIOS, and found the setting to allow the computer to be woken from USB, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I know it isn't the mouse because I was using it on my old computer and could wake it from sleep. I'm not sure what's going on.
I've disabled hibernate. That was because I couldn't wake it at all from hibernate...it actually shut down. Now it will sleep and will only wake if I push the power button briefly. I'd like to be able to wake it by moving my mouse so I can run it lid closed.

Right, Hibernate is off. However, don't disable completely. You still want it to Hibernate in case of very low battery event.
Yes, wake from Sleep. I would make sure it wakes from TouchPad first,
Check options like USB Selective suspend and Hybrid Sleep. Maybe even Wake Timers.
After that is working .. then you can try Bluetooth Mouse.
Check Device Manager / Power Management options of Bluetooth radio. Can it wake computer and don't allow it to be turned off. If it turns off, there is no way a (disconnected) wireless mouse can turn it back on.

The mouse isn't bluetooth. It is a Logitech mouse that has it's own receiver that is plugged into the USB port.

In control panel select "Devices and Printers" right click on the Logitech icon and select trouble shooting.
You can also try a different USB port as well as installing a fresh set of batteries.
Also in Device and Printers, Logitech icon, right click properties. On hardware tab you can arrow down on each item in the list to see if each item is working properly. Also on this page is Properties. Select properties then view events. This will place your mouse in the Events section of Windows for viewing any issues that occur. This event tab can be removed from events later if you want by right clicking on the mouse event tab and selecting delete.

A good reminder of how to use Event Viewer's Custom Views. Lots of good system data continuously logging in Event Viewer. The key is for users to learn how to use it and then remember it's there.
