It's pretty much impossible at this point for any laptop made prior to 2014 to have GA support. A special PCI-E port is needed for it to work, and only the recent lineups have that port.
There are other ways to get an external GPU not through the GA for your laptop, but it'll require you to give up your wifi card and run at a lower bandwidth than the GA.
I have an Alienware 17r2 with a Graphic amplifier an a NVidia GTX 980ti . . my issue is that none of my games (the witcher 3) (batman arkham 3) are working properly when the GA is plug in to my lap top. The only way around is plugging an external monitor to the GA and reinstalling the external graphic card driver, because even though the monitor is always connected to the GA every time I restart the lap top is not recognized. I’m feeling disappointed to find this much problems.
hi can you please tell me that if there is any possibility in future for the compatibility of Alienware Graphics Amplifier with Alienware M14x R2 and If it is how much more time it will take to be in market. As i have heard that currently it is not compatible with the Alienware Laptops before 2014.
I am using Alienware M14x R2 and want to purchase a graphics amplifier.

It looks like the device works only with the Alienware 13 system - not others.

The GTX 980 ti is not a supported GPU for the Graphics Amplifier yet. A new driver should fix that in the coming months.

Hi there! no, the new graphics amplifier is only compatible with the 2015 models (13, 15, 17 r2)
