Disabling Hyperthreading

I have an m17xR4 Alienware Laptop and I would like to disable hyperthreading.  I have looked everywhere in the BIOS but found no option for it.  Is it possible to disable on this system?  It was suggested, by Wildstar tech support, as a fix to low frame per second rate in Wildstar.  Supposedly it has helped other players increase FPS.

When try to disable o enable Hyperthread you are modifying the processor functionally and that is not supported by us. Maybe you can ask them if there is another way for you to increase your FPS on Wildstar.

Well the obvious first try was to update video drivers.  My card is AMD Radeon HD 7970.  After installing AMD's mobility driver version 14.4 or AMD's beta driver 14.7 RC3, Wildstar and Diablo 3, will not even launch.  Both driver versions cause the same issue.  Other games also experience weird windows settings when playing them.  The only drivers that seem to work are the one that shipped with the system.  When using the tool to detect updates for my drivers on Dell's support site, no updates are shown for the AMD card.  My integrated card is Intel HD Graphics 4000.  When viewing able updates using Dell's auto detect tool, there is no update listed for this card either.  When using Intel's auto detect tool, it suggests an update.  When trying to apply this update, I get an error that says "Driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  See manufacturer for the appropriate driver.".

So it seems that updating the drivers on this laptop are impossible or more harmful than good when updated.  Are none of the driver updates that have become for my video cards compatible with my system?  What information about my system should I provide to help answer this question?

The last version of the video card driver that we have is the one that you will find in the support site that in this case it will be the version 9.003,A00

Can you tell me why AMD's latest mobility drivers for this video card will not work on my system?

The ones that we support are the ones in the Dell support website since those are the ones AMD created for our systems; unfortunately I cannot tell you why is it that the ones in their official website are not working for you.
