M11x Windows 10 Upgrade Experiences?
I just installed Windows 10 on my Area 51 R2 and it went fairly smoothly. However, I noticed that my M11x which is my go-to portable is not listed as "supported" by Dell for Windows 10. So, I wanted to ask if anyone had tried to install Windows 10 on their M11x and what their experience was? It's a core i5 with windows 7. Has anyone attempted it? If so, did any particular drivers give you trouble?
Any and all stories appreciated.
Thanks!
Ned.

Hi,
You could also try posting this on the Notebook Review and Alienware Arena forums for this information. I found this thread from the Notebook Review forum, it may be helpful.

Check the same forum with this post if you have problems with Optimus running...

Actually prior testing in a previous thread shows the Nvidia card drops to unusable voltage and clockings, while it stays in a dormant mode,of sorts. It all depends on what each individual prefers. I like having it ready and on demand the moment I want to game.but that doesn't mean I can't get 2 full length movies out of it, plus some Internet time before it dies.

Sounds like the MX11 is truly incompatible with Windows 10, unless you are ok without the hybrid graphics and never using the low-power graphics ever again. At least that was how I read that thread. That's a pretty big battery usage hit for non-gaming use. Does that sound about right? Dell would need to issue the update and it doesn't sound like they plan to do so.
