M18x R2 fan stuck on high
I've had my M18x R2 for a couple years with no issues. Last week the GPU fan came on high speed about 2 minutes after boot up. Now most of the time it does this but sometimes it will kick on momentarily and then shut off and run normal. When the fan does come on like this I've also noticed the computer hangs and my mouse is frozen for about 3 seconds. I checked all the temp sensors and nothing was even remotely warm. My fans rarely come on high speed unless I'm running some intensive 3d modeling software. My case doesn't normally feel warm anywhere either. I installed HWinfo64 to double check if I could manually control the fan and that works fine. The software will even control it fine based in temp inputs.
Anyone got some clues on where to look next or should I just send it in on warranty?

Try removing Dell Support Assistant and Dell Agent.

Ok I'll try that, but can I ask why that might be an issue?

Other users are having issues with the recent Update and install of Support Assistant causing the Fan to stay on and run on high. Causing a buzzing sound when video streaming. There was a hotfix for it but the link to that I had was removed. So I would suggest you try removing it for now until the issue has been resolved by Dell, If that fixes your problem.

And it's fixed, thanks!
