Sound Blaster 3Di Control Panel Not working After Win10 Upgrade.

Alienware 15 (Early 2015) system

After upgrading to Win10 today (7-29-2015) I plugged a set of headphones in but the sound still was coming through the speakers and the Recon 3Di control panel did not come up. When I try to open the control panel it says "Some components are not found. Please reinstall the application"  When I go to the driver page it doesn't even list that driver/program as an option. Ideas?

Try reinstalling audio drivers listed under Win 8.1.

You can change the operating system you see drivers for. It defaults to Win10 now. Manually change it to your previous version.

This worked for me on my Alienware 15 by reinstalling the 8.1 drivers.

It took me a bit of hunting to find where to change the OS, but that did the trick. Thanks.

Here is the link to the driver page I used. Right beside where it says You can change what version of OS you use to the right of where it says.....

  • View all available updates for Windows 10, 64-bit.

Change it to Windows 8 and download.

I was having the exact opposite issue, when I did the upgrade to Windows 10 I had a set of external speakers active and afterwords my internal speakers on my Alienware 17 were not able to play audio but with speakers, headphones, or hdmi I was able to get sound. The fix here worked for my issue as well. It almost seems like Recon 3Di gets broken during the upgrade and locks into what was set to be the audio output at the time of the upgrade. Here is hoping that people who do the upgrade later don't have to bother with this one.

Thank you very much for the solution to the issue.

Totally worked! Just went to dell and reinstalled the driver for the Sound Blaster 3Di and boom. Works
