new cpu alienware x51 r2
I bought my alienware x51 r2 almost a year ago.
I bought the version with a i5 4430 and gtx 645 oem and 8gb ram.
around new year I bought a new graphics card the gtx 760 and a new power supply to handle it.
now I want to upgrade my cpu to the i7 4790 or the i7 4790K edition. the difference is 400 mhz.
but the motherboard from the x51 r2 doesn´t support overclocking so will I be able to use the i7 4790 in mine alienware x51 r2? I updated my bios to the a06 and they say that it now supports i7 4790 but not the i7 4790k. will it also works?
thanks

Yes the most that we tested on the system was the I7-4790 running at 3.6GHz and with turbo boost up 4.0GHz so we cannot assure you that the I7-4790K will work properly on this system since it does not support overclocking.
