WARNING: carefully remove this swollen battery as soon as possible, taking all personal safety precautions.

This battery can burst/leak and permanently damage you and your laptop (and all that this burst/leak comes into contact with). Take laptop to a safe place (external workshop, empty garage, etc.) to remove swollen battery and wear Personel Protective Equipment (PPE). Have water within reach, just in case you need to wash off any contamination.

Hi @APugInVR  welcome to this user to user discussion forum. This is not Dell Support. 

Disconnecting and/or removing the main battery will turn the laptop function into a desktop. Laptop will continue to work, and give you time to get and install a new genuine replacement OEM battery. 

Although the laptop will function as a desktop, its performance will be degraded because laptops require both ac adapter and battery to play and use power hungry games and applications.
