Thanks Rodrigo - the computer only states - Alienware 15 - no details on revision.
Intel Core i7 - 4720HQ
NVIDIA: 970M
Motherboard: Alienware Alienware 15
Those links were great, but were from Windows 7 or 8.1 - im running Windows 10 64.
Dell support assist recommends the thermal framework for download - but this is for win7 or 8.1...
This package provides the driver for Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework and is supported on Alienware 13/15/17 running the following Windows Operating Systems: Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Version: 8.0.10100.71 Category: Chipset Release Date: Thursday, January 08, 2015 Last Updated: Wednesday, January 23, 2019 Importance: Recommended File Format: Update Package for Microsoft® Windows® File Name: Chipset_Driver_V42WJ_WN_8.0.10100.71_A00.EXE File Size: 22.09 MB

Caused Windows 10 on Alienware to not boot up anymore. Will boot up blue screening everytime after the thermal driver. Had to reset computer to fix issue, now back to square one.

Hi There I am on the exact same machine having the exact same issues and so far have only resolved ONE unknown device. Here is that solution:

I too has a BSOD with the Intel Thermal driver and had to reset windows, then the second time the wireless card stopped working after i used the dell auto update on the web and installed the 2 "recommended" drivers so be careful!
