15 R1, new SSD setup questions

So I bought another ssd (970 evo plus nvme  m.2) to add to my laptop that has a 128 ssd and a hdd right now.  There is another ssd slot available for my new drive.

Is that 970 compatible with the Alienware 15 R1? (I hope, I did read on here somewhere that it would be)

Should I install and set up the new drive then do a system restore ? (I want todo a restore at some point to clean things up)

Should I put the new drive in the old ssd drive slot then move the smaller to the other slot? (Does the order affect things at all)

Will the restore affect the hdd? I would like to leave those files on there if possible but I can back them up to a thumb drive if need be.

Anything else I should be considering / worrying about?
