And I have tried someone else’s charger that works for their laptop. It’s the exact same model but still nothing. I don’t think it’s the charger

Yes I have tried this. Still nothing. The charger light come on with or without the battery connected. I’m at the point of calling Alienware and seeing if I can send it to them for them to tell me what’s wrong and how much it will be to fix it. From my experience it seems like a motherboard problem @crimsom

Did you try removing the dead battery (not just disconnect it--and leave it out) and use the adapter alone? If that works use the adapter all the time and don't unplug it while the computer is on or sleeping. Shutdown completely before moving the laptop and/or unplugging the the adapter. Batteries die quicker now since the design has changed. Read- https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-us/sln128667/dell-laptop-battery-frequently-asked-questions?lang=en

If Dell does not have batteries for your model try here- https://www.parts-people.com/index.php?action=item&id=23858

Ok I’ll try this when I get home in the morning and post an update when I verify. From what my buddy says it would charge the battery before all of this. He said he left it on for awhile and walked away, he came back and said it was dead. @crimsom

I tried this when I got home. So

before I took the battery out the charger light would stay on while it was plugged in or not. Now that I took the battery out the charger light goes off when I plug it in. I unplug the charger and plug it back in without the laptop the light comes back on, but right when I plug it into the laptop it goes off again. @Mary G

Yes exactly. So what should I try now? Buy a the internal power cord? I’m not sure what it’s called. @crimsom @Mary G

Y’all are gonna hate me lol. So I remembered that the guy I got it from said he had to mess with the charging port for it to turn on so I went home and was slowly putting it in the charging port and it made a sizzling sound for a split second and then I smelled it burning so I immediately pulled it out and have yet to touch it again lol. I ordered the charging port to see if that was the problem before purchasing a new battery. Did I mess it up? Do y’all think I fried it by this?

Get a new DC jack and a new battery and that should fix it,

My mistake for repeating what everyone else mentioned.

Still didn’t work. Replaced the power jack and hooked it to the charger. Charger still cuts off right when I plug it in.

That may be something wrong with the board and that’s board level.
