2) Then told me to put them in the folder located at C:\ProgramData\Alienware\OCControls
3) However, I did not have that folder for some reason...
4) So instead, I went to C:\ProgramData\Alienware & created a new folder named OCControls
5) Then I pasted the files into that location
This helped with resolving the error messages, and restored the OC LVL1 as well as OC LVL2 configurations.
However, the "overclock" slider is still greyed out, and I am still unable to overclock the system through OC Controls at this point.
It seems that this fix was along the right track though, as it removed the three pop-up errors I had everytime previously, and at least restored the OC LVL1 & OC LVL2 bars.
I'm awaiting @DELL-Cares's response for the next step in this, but they have been of amazing help thus far & have continued to escalate the problem to engineering until we get it figured out. So please give them huge props for helping with the issue ^-^
I hope it is okay to share the files & steps here, but I wish to help others who may be having the same issue with their OC Controls. If we eventually get it fully operational again, I will also update here in the future.
Buying the warranty is one thing, but have they solved this issue or not. What is the guarantee that after buying they will be able to solve the issue!!
My post is removed everytime I try to post the solution, sorry.
I can DM it to everyone who posts they have the problem, but for some reason Dell won't let me post the solution here without it being removed instantly.
Now, I didn't have the OCControls folder, so I had to go to C:\ProgramData\Alienware & make a new folder called OCControls in that location, then copy the files there.
It takes away those 3 error messages we had been getting & restores the OCLVL1 and OCLVL2.
If this doesn't work still, try to uninstall OC Controls & Alienware Command Center, then reinstall both.
and told me to put them in the C:\ProgramData\Alienware\OCControls folder, as shown in this photo:

They have been very kind, and forwarded this issue to their engineering team multiple times, so it seems we have been making some progress at least ^-^.
Thanks for the update. Based on the title of the xtu files, it looks like the OC profiles you linked are designed for use with the 8700K, is that what you have?
man im having this problem i cant overclick at all they ahad me format 4 times.....my bios oc isn't working and i cant get in the oc controls trhough windwos either im stuck at 4.2
@Aefy hi Aefy, do you still have those 8700K profiles? I checked your link but the files have been removed from your google driver. If you can PM me I can give you my email to send them. Appreciate any help!!
I have an Alienware 15 R3 too and im having the same issue. I have been overclocking this laptop. but just now updated the OC update for command center. And every time i launch the thing, it has the error of not being able to download the configuration file, and therefore i can use the OC function.

Dell Support has thus far:
1) They gave me these files and folders
2) Then told me to put them in the folder located at C:\ProgramData\Alienware\OCControls

So far, Dell support has given me these files = https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qvGoyKhbCXvA2MP6GjXs46Xd1mo4jDCv
and told me to put them in the C:\ProgramData\Alienware\OCControls folder, as shown in this photo:

Any chance you can help?
Aefy is not replying to inboxes and I am stuck after reinstalling windows with another broken instance of OC controls.
Story short there are files missing from C:\ProgramData\Alienware\OCControls
Please if your OC controls works for 1.0.5.0 stay tuned to this chat and hit me up.
ALL I need is an exact copy of the folder, if you could kindly upload it to Google Drive and share it with me I would be ever grateful.
Is your pc an Aurora R7, with an 8700K CPU? Please help me.
