15 R3, RAM compatibility?

Hey everyone. I'm trying to purchase RAM for my Alienware 15 R3 which takes DDR4. I have a set of Corsair in my cart, but for some reason i feel the need to verify that the RAM will fit into my laptop. Does any DDR4 chip fit into my laptop or is there some other specification like size i need to look up? Here's a link for the RAM i've chosen, i just need to know if this is compatible.

That would be desktop RAM and will not fit on your laptop. The following are the specs for your system. Your RAM would be like the RAM on the Crucial site.

Table 1. Memory specifications.

Slots Two SODIMM slots
Type DDR4
Speed 2133 MHz, 2400 MHz, and 2667 MHz
Configurations supported 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB

Dell OEM 15 R3 RAM sticks =
821PJ 16GB, SODIMM, 2400MHz, 2Gx64, Unbuffered, DDR4, 260 pin, Dual Rank, 1.2V, Non-Error Correction Code
HYXPX 8GB, SODIMM, 2666MHz, 1Gx64, Unbuffered, DDR4, 260 pin, Single Rank, 1.2V, Non-Error Correction Code, Non-Encrypted
MKYF9 8GB, SODIMM, 2400MHz, 1Gx64, Unbuffered, DDR4, 260 pin, Single Rank, 1.2V, Non-Error Correction Code

Those ram sticks are for Desktop... They WILL NOT WORK.

Do NOT buy. As far as system goes.. if you have any DDR4 over 2400, they will be pointless. You cannot change the XMP profile to anything over 2400. I have a 2666 kit and its locked to 2400 and NOTHING will change that at all.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XQWN7MP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 work just fine, but again.. they are defaulted to 2400.

Hi

Only 50/50. In "Setup & specification"  given 2133,2400 AND 2667 MHz.

But I can agree that there are some not supported.Perhaps yours. I avoid using Ballistix, there is always problem with Ballistix. With mine without.2667 MHz.jpgSetup & Specification.jpg
