15 R4, keyboard keys and functions

Question

I have been searching for what I would believe would be an easy question and answer.  I want to identify all my keys and their functions.  For the most part it is easy to figure out but I have a vertical column of numbers 1 through 5 on the far left of the keyboard that each have a symbol next to them that looks a little like this: -).  Not really a parentheses but kind of an abbreviated parentheses next to the left of the number. What are those used for?  I would think I could find a simple layout and ID in the specs or owners manual but could not. Thanks.

Those are macro hot keys. I believe you can program them in the Alienware Command Center to quickly do functions, or in games as well.
