For the typical user, noticeable reduction in run time generally will be observed after 18 to 24 months. For a power user, reduction in run time generally may be experienced within 18 months. Dell recommends buying a new Dell OEM laptop battery when the run time does not meet your needs. Dell battery warranty expires when new laptop is more than 12 months old.
Dell has decided not to supply replacement batteries.
The replacement battery should be a new guaranteed Dell OEM with one year warranty from a good vendor, either a 6-cell 99Wh Dell P/N 9NJM1 or a 4-cell 68Wh Dell P/N 44T2R.
Users visit this forum from anywhere in the world, so we do not know what your good local Dell parts vendor will be. Internet search using the Dell Part Number, should reveal your local vendor.
Laptops without battery are designed to happily function as Desktop powered by ac adapter.
Check replacement battery when delivered, the white label should say the correct DP/N and beneath the square matrix, the year/month date should be less than six months old.
Consult Dell support for removing and installing battery and visit YouTube to watch one of the many battery replacement videos.
