You should explain your problems instead of posting links. You have to use the customized Dell Drivers instead of drivers from Nvidia or any other manufacturer. Those won't work on dell laptops. Dell customizes the Nvidia drivers for your exact model. Go here for drivers- https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/alienware-17-r3/drivers
the errors i get indicate that the driver resets for whatever reason. "runtime detected a loss of graphics device", why does it do this i don't know, is the card dying? it displays no graphical anomalies, it's been doing this 2 years + now, i think it should've died by now if it was the case. Is the OS resetting the driver with no reason? is the PSU not providing enough power? I don't know. Every stress test from the Dell support assist utility and the FireStrike Benchmark had the card pass every time.

there we go, did a recovery usb stick reinstall, still nothing good.
Driver or card crashed with the 389.12 driver, i then updated to latest 431.53, still crashed.
before reinstalling my OS the event viewer had some errors relating to nvlddmkm.
now it just gave a warning "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
looking in Security and Maintenance, the time at which that message occurred coincides with this
