17 R4, I broke my EDP Ribbon cable

Question

In the process of reassembling my laptop I must've used a bit too much force and my EDP cable couldn't reconnect to it's motherboard port. I couldn't reassemble the pieces back because a part broke. Can I a replacement cable? Can I re-solder it? The cable itself isn't entirely removed. The following image is what I had broken:

If the system has a standard screen, replace the cable; if it's a touchscreen, you'll need to replace the entire display assembly.

Carefully check the mainboard connector -- make sure it is not damaged.

Can I replace with any other EDP Ribbon cables or does it have to be the exact model? What type am I going to look for?
