17 R4, LCD display defect?

Question

Have a look along the bottom of this picture. It is subtle, but you should see some (4) dark spots. That's what my desktop looks like with the taskbar and icons hidden. It is NOT a screenshot. I had to create this pic. A screenshot does not show it, so it is physically in the display screen. I did not notice this at all when I first got the machine. It started with the 'blotch' at the left. Which was smaller and only at the very bottom of the screen. It has been slowly growing upward and the other blotches have appeared and are also growing upward. Notice the leftmost blotch is cut off quite straight and up from the bottom. That's where the white search box in the taskbar is.. the onscreen white area is erasing the blotch! Have you seen anything like this? Know what it is? This machine is on my desk, always open, always on. I never close the lid, or carry it. so it's not from pressure. Nothing ever spilled on it. no extreme temperatures or humidity. It sure looks like liquid damage. But it is not. any help? advice?

It’s a display defect so you need to replace it. That should be able to fix it.

My 17 R4 is from Mar 2017. Since mid 2021 I'm observing the exact same dark blobs you are describing. As shown in your picture they appear along the bottom of the screen. First there was only one, now (Dec 2021) there are 4. During the last half year they increased in size and slowly grew/moved upward.
